Maine AIDS Walk

Registration starts at 9:30AM and the walk starts at 10:15AM. During late spring of every year, several communities throughout Maine host events where people touched by the HIV/AIDS epidemic can gather to support their efforts in addressing the disease. 'Walkers' solicit funds from friends,  family, co-workers and neighbors to support HIV prevention and care services. A portion of funds raised through Maine AIDS Walk are matched, dollar for dollar, by the National AIDS Fund and distributed to community organizations that are addressing this disease. This unique opportunity allows individuals to 'double' their contribution in a time of increased demand for services, but when public funding has not kept pace.
