EqualityMaine Announces the Election of New Board Officers

Timothy Diehl elected Board President of EqualityMaine

and EqualityMaine Foundation

Other Officers include Fay Brodell, Shawn LaGrega,

Brian Randall and Barb Wood

(Portland, ME) … EqualityMaine and EqualityMaine Foundation today announced the election of Timothy Diehl of Brunswick, ME as its new Board President. Mr. Diehl is Director of Career Planning at Bowdoin College and also was politically active in Connecticut with Love Makes a Family, the state’s public education and lobbying organization dedicated to achieving marriage equality for same-sex couples. During his volunteer tenure with Love Makes a Family, Mr. Diehl served as president of the organization's PAC and as founding president of the Love Makes a Family Foundation.

“I appreciate the confidence that board members have placed in me by electing me to this position and will do my utmost to serve them well, “ said Diehl. “I look forward to working with the rest of the board, the remarkably talented staff at EqualityMaine, and our dedicated volunteers and members throughout the state as we move forward to achieve equality for all Maine families.”

Other board officers elected were Fay Brodell, Treasurer, Shawn LaGrega, Vice President EqualityMaine, Brian Randall, Secretary and Barb Wood, Vice President EqualityMaine Foundation. “The times ahead for our organizations will be challenging,” said Betsy Smith, Executive Director. “We are indeed fortunate to have board members of the highest caliber to serve our members throughout the state as we move forward toward equality.
